I'm originally from Snowdonia, North Wales, and the area's nature and scenery of my home background inspire me. I'm influenced by the way my creations work as objects as well as by their aesthetic appearance. I'm inspired by the appearance of the outer surfaces of a walnut for example as well as the shell's function of protecting the seed inside.

I came to live in London 6 years ago and the visual influence gained here have combined with the inspiration of my Welsh background. London's easily accessible galleries and museums have been an inspiration in themselves as well as the city's shops and open markets selling unusual and inspiring objects.

Sketching, drawing and gathering ideas is very important part of my personal design process. I combine drawings, collected objects, photographs and magazine cuttings.The sketchbooks become objects in themselves.
